Neutrally Buoyant Tether

One unit of this product = 1 meter. Maximum continuous length is 100m.

Tether choice and management is undoubtedly one of the most challenging aspects of operating an underwater drone. For some users, the standard two-wire tether may not be sufficiently strong or easy to use. Due to this, we decided to stock a premium neutrally buoyant tether. The neutrally buoyant tether is less prone to ensnarement and entanglement on obstacles and objects. It also less likely to damage sensitive marine structures (like coral or archeological sites).

  • Foamed polyurethane outer jacket to provide buoyancy
  • Neutrally buoyant in fresh water, slightly buoyant in salt water
  • Kevlar strength member to provide additional strength
  • High visible yellow color to see it through the water
  • No inherent twisting of wire, so less likely to get tangled

  • Diameter: 4mm
  • Break strength: 500 N
  • Density: 1.00 g/cm^3 to 1.05 g/cm^3
  • Wires: 2x28 AWG copper
  • Minimum Bend Radius: 20mm
